Book Character Day
To celebrate "book fair week" we had a dress up day
.
Room one had a "Fancy Nancy, Footrot Flats, Spider-Man and Badjelly the Witch to name a few characters.

Harold
Room 1 enjoyed 2 lessons with Harold this week.
We learnt about being a good friend -
we need safe hands - ringa manaaki
we use safe words - Kupu pai
and we have safe feet - waewae manaaki.
We also learnt about using warm fuzzies - saying and doing nice actions.
So keep you bucket full room 1.

Buddy reading
Room 1 where lucky to demonstrate their developing reading skills to room 5. They were working on fluency and phrasing, one to one matching and enjoyment of the story.

Wibble Wobble
Room 1 made traffic light jelly this week. They got some amazing language and made their taste buds dance with excitement..

Stop, Look and Listen
Room 1 and 2 had a surprise guest on Monday.
Ronald McDonald.
He had a very important message to tell the children at St Joseph's - Road Safety.
We learnt about crossing the road, making it click and keeping safe on the footpath.

Welcome!
Room 1 have fully embraced the start of 2017.
They are settled, focused and challenging themselves with their new learning.
They have been learning about warm colours and using that knowledge to collage one of God's creations.
